So, several nights ago I spent an hour looking over a newly found web site. But what seemed like one hour turned out to have been six hours! The site was instructables.com. If you're a practical person, one that can build, hack, modify or repair gadgets then this site is a treat. Lots of recipes, tips, tricks, and 'howtos' for the household, kitchen and workshop. Over 3000 projects with easy to follow instructions submitted by the site members.

For decades the BBC site has provided printed support material for the BBC's Radio and Television output. So when the web came along it was only a matter of time before this material found it's way onto the BBC web site. Now the BBC web site is a jewel on the web - the extensive content, includes educational & exam support material, news which is updated as a story develops, schedules, some radio programs are streamed (you can listen to it over the internet if you're out of transmitter range), Science, Sport, ....
Amazon is an on-line book store, their database is an excellent resource for finding out what books are published on any topic, or which other books your favourite author has written.
